I made the clown cake for a friend's birthday...it was so good...one of my better ones. I never got a chance to get a picture of it.

I rushed home from work so I made sure I got to the restaurant before my friend. The cake was a surprise. They put it in the fridge for me. When it came time for the cake, I asked them to bring it out. It was taking a while, and the one waitress comes out and says they accidently dropped it on the floor. I worked hours on the cake to make it perfect for my friend! Late nights and early mornings. They were very apologetic, and rushed out and bought a new cake, but it still wasn't the same icon_sad.gificon_cry.gif

We will still continue to go to the restaurant though...they have the best chinese food in town lol!

Oh, that's awful! I would have been so upset. They should have at least taken something off of your dinner check too!

He heart dropped just reading that, I can imagine how I'd feel. Completely devastated and so upset. That's why I'm so nervous about others handling my cakes, they just won't take the same care as you would.

I'm sorry that happened. They definitely should've at least taken care of your dinner or something.

No they didn't let us eat for free although they should have! It was a big bill though, but still!
They were nice enough to get us a new cake and gave us deep fried bananas lol but yah...still not happy about it!

I don't think they owed you a whole dinner. Accidents do happen. They did get another cake for you and gave you the bananas.

Many many restaurants won't let you bring in desserts (which I understand), and some that do charge for for bringing something in because they 1) aren't able to then sell their own dessert and 2) have to provide plates and utensils for it.

That's awful! I bet they felt terrible about that. Although you put a lot of work into that cake aren't you glad it wasn't a wedding cake or big anniversary cake instead? Good that you don't hold a grudge and can still go there to enjoy the food. Ü

I'd be so pissed!! I'm too controlling to let anyone else handle my cakes, though once it's out of your doors, there's not much you can do! I'm sorry that happened!
