I am sooo mad right now I could bite a nail into!!! icon_mad.gificon_mad.gificon_mad.gif Today is hubby's b-day, so I'm making him his favorite dinner and a special b-day cake. Been waiting for this for awhile so I could finally get to use MMF. thumbs_up.gif I put the cake in this a.m. and went a bit later to check on it. I thought the oven wasn't very warm and the cake had hardly cook at all...so I turned up the oven....went back and it was cold as ice. icon_cry.gifthumbsdown.gif My stupid heating element coil thingy went out in the bottom of the oven!!! icon_mad.gificon_cry.gificon_eek.gif The top one is still working....and I'm trying to use it to cook the cake....but I don't think it's going to work!! icon_cry.gificon_sad.gif

I hope hubby likes runny cake!! icon_rolleyes.gif Thanks for letting me vent guys.... It's just been one of those days. ~Denise

We all have days like that! If all else fails...try baking a cake in your microwave. I know there are recipes out there for doing that...I might even have one in one my cookbooks!

Thanks so much guys!! Well the cakes turned out like hard cookies trying to cook them with the broiler. thumbsdown.gif They didn't rise at all....so that idea didn't work!! icon_cry.gif Thanks for the idea of the microwave MrsMissey!! I found a couple of recipes in my cookbook and I'm going to try that. Then tomorrow I'll get my oven fixed and will make the one I wanted to make today. icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks for being there for me guys!! ~Denise

Doesn't it stink when you are all set for something and it doesn't happen!!!? Give yourself permission to cheat and just buy a plain cake that you can decorate!

denise I have a tupperware recipe for a skinhny chocolate cake I dont know if that would owkr but ill post

1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
1 cup water
1/3 c fat free salad dressing or mayonaise
3 eeg whites or 6tsp egg white liquids

mix all the ingrediants in bowl ....spray a plastic bowl (use one witha vented lid) with nonstick spray microwave on high for 7-10 minutes depending on microwave power cake shoould pull slighty from sides..test with toothpick should come out clean cool 4-5 minutes invert onto plate....

This is done with the heat n serve container but if you have any other vented bowl that should work.

good luck

My heating element went out 2 weeks ago too. I was about to bake some cookies for my kids and the oven just stopped working. Thanks goodness they fixed it last Friday, because I have to bake some cakes and cookies this weekend.

Hey denise

I hope your morning is going a little better.
I don't know if you still planning on making a cake or not but you can steam a cake on top of the stove.
Good luck with everything and a happy birthday to your husband.

AShiana

adven68...I never thought about that!! icon_biggrin.gif

That's the way my oven did barbara-ann, when I first put the cakes in the oven everything was a-okay...then blink it was dead!! icon_cry.gif I can't get the darn thing fixed till tomorrow.

HI AShiana!! Thank you for the info on the steaming cake on top of the stove. I didn't know you could do that and I will remember that incase it happens again. I'm still going to make the cake because I had a really neat idea I was wanting to do. thumbs_up.gif I still want to use the MMF that I made!!
