I have tried some cakes and even the birthday cake icecream at Marble Slab. What gives them that flavor of "birthday cake"?

I am thinking it may be difficult to say... I have heard its lemon extract used, and I have heard almond extract, and then I have heard using like 4 tsps of vanilla and you will get it.... all I know is when I smelled the candle that you can get from partylite it had a smell of lemony/vanilla... sorry I cant help you....

I can't answer your question, but I LOVE that ice cream!!! Tastes like you're eating the actual batter, without the yucky feelin!!
Are you trying to replicate that? In what, a cake??[/b]

i don't know how to get that exact flavor in a scratch cake but I canprobably help with the ice cream. i used to work for Cold Stone Creamery (same basic idea as marble slab) and I imagime that the "Cake Batter" ice cream we had was made in a similar way as marble slabs "birthday cake." Its done by mixing regular ol' cake mix into the plain ice cream.
