Do you need to get a scanner as well as a printer? This is what I am wondering about. Say... I want to put a family photo on the cake. I need the printer (I'm thinking canon 3000), icing images and of course the edible ink. So how does the picture get onto the icing sheet? Do you scan it into the computer?
Sorry for the dumb questions...I just want to make sure I understand this process.

Yes, you would need to scan the picture unless you have a camera that can take the picture and then download it to your computer, but with old photos, yes, you'd need to scan it.....or I'm wondering if you could take it to like Wal-mart and have them copy the picture or pictures onto a disk or Cd for you and then you could load them on your computer that way.
