hi want to try the transfer for a spiderman cake.....my question is has anyone tried to do this with the buttercream icing not using butter? Also how thick do you have to have the picture filled in. and when smoothing the back does it try to lift off the wax paper?

Hi there Farrah!
to answer your questions. I never use butter in the FBCT. I always use all crisco recipe and haven't had a problem yet. You should use a medium to thick batch of frosting. Your picture needs to be filled in very good...like doing color flow. Also it does not have to be a thick (as in size) design. It just all depends on pressure I think. If you get it all done and then lightly tap the back to smooth in with your fingers(clean of course) then sometimes I have found you don't need to smooth it all down with a spatula. If you need any more help just ask. It really is an EASY process and fun too! Good luck!
