Hello Everyone. I am new to the site & I love it here. I was wondering if anyone has ever baked a cake in a Terra Cotta Flower Pot? And if you have, how did you do it? I need details please, lol. icon_biggrin.gif

I am sure that some have as I have read about it countless times. I have not but am a little curious too.

I have a clay cooker for cooking roasts and stuff. I wonder if you would do it the same way. You have to soak the clay cooker in water for about 30 minutes before you put it in the oven. But if you did that with a cake would it make the cake mushy? Just random thoughts. Would like to know how this is done too.

Hi there! I finally found the answer to your question!!

If you go to the gallery and do a search of the key words - flower pot cake, you'll see a picture of a cake made by eve...if you read the comments below it, she describes how she baked the cake in the pot.

Good luck and make sure you post a pic of your finished product!!

Happy baking!

Just need to be careful. Some terra cotta pots are made with lead!
