Any chance you forgot to add the eggs to the mix? (not that I've ever done that mind you) icon_redface.gif

I use cake mixes. I have never had a complaint or problem. If this cake needs to be sold or given away, go get a cake mix. Then you can try your scratch recipes out when you don't have to give/take it anywhere. Just a suggestion. Good luck.

Some white cakes have an extemely light, delicate texture. They will crumble easily. Here are scratch recipes from The Cake Bible. The cakes will not fall apart when sliced.

HI SBC!! Welcome to CC!! I know you will love it here!! Everyone is so willing to share and help with everything!! thumbs_up.gif

Are you wanting to doctor a cake mix?? Here is a recipe for ya....

1 white cake mix
8 oz of sour cream
1 cup milk
3 egg whites
1 tsp. almond extract
2 tblsp. veggie oil

I bake my cakes at 325 (a tip I learned from here icon_biggrin.gif ) ...it will increase bake time.

You don't use water when you use milk or buttermilk.

Hope that helps you. Hugs, ~Denise
