Hi fola, I am as new as you but I would think if you are carving put it in the freezer for a bit and then carve it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks vie, it was not while carving. It was while serving it(the cake).

fola, I used to have the same problem. I'm going to share with you how I fixed the problem. This recipe/process is for cakes mixes only. Here it goes:

1 box of cake mix
4 eggs (not 3 like it says in the box)
1 cup water, orange/pineapple juice (not 1 1/3 as per the package instructions)
1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup sour cream
1/2 package of pie filling the same flavor as the cake
Remember, eggs make the cakes more solid. Usually recipe calls for 1 1/3 of water (liquid). Well, I use only 1 cup of it and the other 1/3 I use the sour cream instead. The pudding/pie filling produces a harder cake. Don't panic and keep trying. Good Luck!!
