Ok I am looking here at the instructions for the FBCT...and trying to make sense of it...maybe it being late doesn't help. I have tried to do this once before with no luck. I reread the instructions. It shows them outlining the image, coloring it in, and then it looks like they put something over it?? Can someone please explain this to me...I don't mean to sound dumb, but I just don't get it... icon_confused.gif TIA

I justs did my first FBCT this weekend, it is quite simple really.

All you do is "outline the picture, fill in the other colors, then I finished mine off with a large round tip and made a big outline around the whole picture. I then squeezed some more white BC an the back of the design and smoothed it over with my small angled spatula, just to make it even all over.

Hope this helps. I have a hard time typing instuctions sometimes.

I outline, fill in, then if there are any places that aren't as high as others I'll added a little more icing on them. You want the back of your piece to be pretty flat. After that I top it with a piece of wax paper and use my fingers to smooth a little. This comes in handy because I freeze mine for a few mins, then flip it over to look at the front and smooth through the wax paper any spots that I feel I need too.

I did my one and only FBCT a few weeks ago. It was fun and not too difficult. I plan to try more in the future when I need a cake for a special occasion. I'm sure the more I do, the better they will be. Right now I just decorate as a hobby, but would love to start selling cakes to friends and family.

I used a clear glass cutting board. I taped my coloring book page to the back of the glass and then on the top of the glass tape a piece of waxed paper. I used icing to trace the outline of the crab and put that in the freezer for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then I began to fill the crab in just like you would color with crayons. You will want to fill in the smallest areas first and then move on the the larger areas. After you have everythink filled in you can pick up the glass at look at your figure from underneath to see if you have any areas that didn't get completely filled in. After you have filled everything in to your satisfaction, cover your complete picture with a layer of icing the same color as the icing you are using on your cake. Then everything goes back in the freezer. Mine was in the freezer for about 24 hours. When you're ready to put it on the cake, take it out of the freezer and place on your cake waxpaper side up and slowly peel the paper back. I hope this helps a little.

Try to remember your working on the BACKSIDE of the picture. That's why you do the little details FIRST.
