I made over 40 flowers to go on top of a cake for a wedding that was to take place the weekend Hurricane Rita hit. The lady called and canceled the cake because they were evacuating. Well, she called me today and the wedding is back on for Friday evening. I went into my cake room to look at the flowers. Every last one of them melted and flopped. Now I have to hurry and make 40 more to go on top of the cake .. The lady stressed to me that it really didn't matter if she had those flowers or not because it was such short notice. I feel so sorry for her that her first wedding plans were just totally destroyed because of the hurricane.... I started baking her cakes tonight (again). I had already had all of them baked before the hurricane hit us.. We enjoyed the chocolate one when it thawed out, but all others were lost. Thank goodness it's not a huge cake .. 12" square (double layer), 8" square and an 11 x 15 groom's cake. I hope these flowers will dry in time... I had also made the bows that were to go on each corner and the loop parts are still ok to use... I had left the cotton rolled up in the loops and I think that's the only thing that saved them... as far as the tails that go down from the bow loops, they all melted too .. I have a lot of work ahead of me to do!! But I'm determined to make her wedding cakes for her!

I'm sure your best effort on short notice will be more than good enough. That's very sweet of you to be so compassionate and willing to help make her day a special one. I'm cheering you on!!

Cheryl,
You have such a big heart. That is why you are so good at what you do. You obiviously put your heart and soul into each and every cake. I know you will not disappoint the bride, even if it means stressing yourself out!

Remember, when you send out good vibes they come back to you!
