I have been asked to make 2 cakes for a Christmas party in early December. She wants one to be red velvet and one to be carrot. I would like to made the red velvet a tiered snowflake cake, and the carrot a square package with bow. How big should each cake be to equal about a hundred? I don't mind if one is bigger than the other. Help, please. Thanks for taking the time.

OK, I have been doing some more research, and have come up with something. Tell me if this makes sense.

For my round tiered cake: 2-6" on top of 2-10" (using 2" deep pans)

For my square cake: Double layer 10" square

I am looking at an old Wilton Yearbook, but I trust you guys much more than any old yearbook icon_biggrin.gif

I would think that these would be okay as long as they are cut to wedding size pieces but if they are cut to party size then you would not have enough cake. That would be my biggest fear. I would probably do a double layer 12" square and a double layer 8" and 10" rounds. Just to be on the safe side.

Hope this helps!

Sounds good to me. I wasn't too far off, but for further use, where did you get the sizes you told me? I am never sure how much to make, and you're right, I do not want to run out. Thanks!
