Is there a specific air-brushing machine for cakes? Where would I find such a machine? icon_smile.gif Thanks, Theresa

any airbrush will do..it's the compresor. You do not want a big one that will blow holes in your cakes. THere are many options out there...try KopyKake.com first..

I have heard the KopyKake airmaster one is really good and you can use dusts in it without it clogging up. (maybe someone who has one can tell you more).

I don't have one but have been thinking of getting one. I purchased a KK projector in Feb and have LOVED it. When it comes time to get an airbrush I will probably stick with KK brand.

I just bought a kopykake this month and I love it. I am just starting to airbrush and I did a lot of research on it and found that kopykake was the best. I read that if you start with a cheaper one you will end up needing a better one anyway so then you spend twice the money. Also some brushes are not good for details and will make things look grainy. I hope this helps. I ordered mine off the sugercraft website, they were the cheapest unless you can find it on ebay. Good luck and if you have any other question, you can PM me. Keli

Like the others have advised, get the airmaster from kopykake. The airbrush that comes with it is easy to use, a single action. Once you get one, you can use water to practice with, just spray on newspaper, when you get some colours start practising in colouring books and try to stay in the areas. most the time you;ll use it for background shading, so staying inside the lines doesn't really matter. then with practice you can use stencils and even write with it. here is one i did, i made the stencil.

Your horse is wonderful! Did you do all of it with a stencil? Like when you did the shading did you use a stencil? I am unsure how this really works.

I am sooo thinking about splurging and getting an airbrush. icon_lol.gif

Definitely slurge! Once you get an airbrush you will absolutely love it, I've had one for a couple of years now. I don't do anything with it nearly as elaborate as the horse [shown above...great job by the way], but I use mine all the time. I use it alot to fill in the backgrounds of my cakes, I really like the way it makes your designs seem to POP! I too have the kopykake system. There are others on the market, but hands down it would be highly recommended!

This was a 3 piece stencil, first one does all the very dark areas, next one leaves the whole horse shape open and protects the white background, last piece leave only the hair open, i do that last so i can get good lines for the hair that hangs over the shoulder area.

i use the AB for alot of background colouring too. its so quick, a must have for a cake decorator.
