I was wondering if anyone has done a Wizard of Oz party and if they have cake pirctures for me too look at. My two little one's a boy and girl are sharing the party, so I wanted a cake to suit them both. I'll take any ideas or comments. The party is Oct 22nd.

Thanks!

I don't have any pictures, but I did a cake once for Wizard of Oz. I used the 3d house cake pan on top of one end of an 11x13 sheet cake. I put a few cookies under one side of the house cake to make it unlevel and look like the house had just fallen on the sheet cake from a tornado. The cookies were later covered with icing. Then I used fondant to make two shriveled little legs wearing the black and white striped stockings coming out from under one side of the house. AFrom the front of the house to the other end of the cake, I used fondant with the brick impression mat and luster dust to make the yellow brick road. You could do something similar. I wish I had a picture for you though. Sorry.

Here is a picture of a cake I did a few years ago when I just started decorating. Its not that great but the little girl loved it.

Here's a good idea, but I don't have a picture of it..... for the girl, make a pair of ruby slippers out of fondant (Shimmer dust should work quite nicely) and for the boy, make a pair of Munchkin shoes.

This nice lady has a couple in her cakes. She just posted on the forum where you list 3 random things about yourself. HTH:
