What Do You Think They Used For These Seperators???

I want to put a small seperation in a cake I'm doing and I'm trying to figure out how to do it like the above cake... Anyone have any idea???

Wow....that cake is beautiful..... its looked like a variation of the crystal seperator rings in the wilton books... i might be wrong but would these work?
