Hi Everyone.
I am going to make cookie icing for the first time and I was wondering what would be the best way to color the icing? I plan to make Toba's glace and Antonia's icing. I would like to make a pretty red for Valentine cookies.
I have some paste colors, would that work or should I get something else?
Thank you for your help.

Make sure the red paste is the "No taste" kind. Some have had luck with the paste being red enough. I have read threads where some use cherry kool-aid for the deep red. I have only used the paste and gel and had luck getting the deep red I needed.

Try the Americolor Super Red. It's fantastic, you can get it right here on CC !!

I just used it on my valentines cookies in my gallery.

You can also add a tad of black to the red. I've done this and it works wonderfully. I love the Americolors, so I would suggest that. And you could also try the kool-aid suggestion (yummy!). thumbs_up.gif

Thank you for the help. I will try the suggestions. I looked at the cookies in each of your galleries and they look great.
Tayesmama I really like your signature picture. It is so cute.
