If anyone is doing poured sugar work I have a tip for you. Playdough makes a great mold for this type of work. You can draw out your pattern on cardboard cut it out apply it to the rolled out playdough and using a sharp knife such as a hobby knife cut out your design. When you get ready to pour your sugar take care that you do not fill your mold to full. The only drawback is the playdough is shot after one use but you can get 4 tubs for like $5.00.

I have heard that before, but I have also heard it depends on what kind of playdough you use... one made the cake or whatever you used in the mold taste like the playdough...

I would not use this for an edible object such as a cake or anything like that. For poured sugar work or something like that it would be fine since the decoration will not be eaten.

I buy "magic dough" in the dollar stores for my daughter. You get 4 tubs for a buck and they don't seem to have that play doh smell that makes me gag.
