We got a call today from the lady who owns the vacant lot next door. We have been trying to get her to sell this property to use for over a year and it was always..."no, I'm selling all my available property to developers only" icon_mad.gif So we had given up on it and decided to go w/building me a kitchen!! Well she called us today and offered us the property!!! icon_confused.gif

No way we can pass it up, our lot is small and could use the extra lot. But her asking price is the same as what we were planning to spend on the kitchen!! thumbsdown.gif We had appointments set up for next week to get financing for the kitchen...guess it will be for the lot now. But this pushes my kitchen back by a couple years!! icon_cry.gif

Guess this gives me more time to build up clients. Still a bummer though, I had 'big' plans/dreams for my space and was getting excited b/c I could possibly be licensed in the next 6-9 months!!!

Oh well, at least now we will have the extra lot and eventually my own kitchen!!

So Sorry! That is a bummer. Hope all goes well with the purchase of the lot!!!! Just think...in two years you'll have a kitchen. That is so great!!!

There is nothing like real estate....so just know you are doing the right thing. The kitchen can come later.....but have you spoken to your lender to see if you could afford the price of both? They might work it out for less than you think. Doesn't hurt to ask....

I am all for cake decorating...but owning this property is a wise choice.
