i baked a cake today for a babyshower tomorrow, i was having problems with the cake coming out from the pan and when it finally did it was missing a big chunk from the middle it stuck to the pan.....so i had a big hole in the middle i took the remaining cake from the pan and put it like a puzzle on top....my question now is what should i do????? can i save this by putting the filling on top and then the next layer and hope nobody notices or should i bake a new layer?????
please need your opinions. thanks!!!

Sure you can save it!!! Use icing like glue and glue the chunk back into place and ice it like you normally would!! They won't even notice when they cut into it!!

Well, this has happened to me too! You can add a bit of frosting to the hole, then add the cake piece. It should be fine. Once you add the fillings make sure you crumb coat the layers & let them sit a bit to settle. Good Luck! Helen

I'm sure your cake will look perfect as nothing happened. I know how you felt when you looked at your cake coming out from the pan with a piece missing!!!!!!!!!!! that happened to me once and I managed to glue all the pieces (the big chunk became three pieces icon_mad.gif ) together with the BC. At the end the cake was looking OK.
