embarassed to ask but

Have never used the rolled fondant before on cookies, but am going to try it. My DUH! question is how do you get the fondant slightly smaller than the cookie! Trim it down carefully or what? Buy 2 sizes of each cutter? I feel really dopey asking. icon_redface.gif Thanks for helping

There's no such thing as a stupid question! You use the same cutter you used for the cookies. The cookies will spread a little bit while they're baking, thus making the cut-out fondant a little smaller then the cookie and creating a great border for RI.

Can someone show me examples of cookies with fondant? I didn't know it was used for cookies.

thats all we use now it takes alot less time to decorate. When you have 65 doz of cookies to do you have to find a faster way to do it and it taste really good. You bake your cookies and cut out the shape with the cookie cutter and put it on your cookies straight out of the oven so it sticks let dry over night decorate them the next day buy the end of the day they are ready to wrap. If you look in my photos or go to my website the cookies are done in fondant.

Why is it that the first time you do research, it is re-search, rather than just search?

This was made with fondant. About half the cookies in my album are fondant. Hope you get a chance to take a quick peek.

I agree with Wendy....FONDANT ON COOKIES IS AWESOME!!!! It's so fast and tastes REALLY good (and I'm not a big fan of the way fondant tastes).

A really good inspirational reference book on this is the Flour Pot Cookie Book. They do all their cookies in fondant and have some very cool designs. icon_smile.gif

I tried MMF on cookies last weekend too and loved it! I was surprised because DH loved it also, and he hated MMF on cake. I don't care for it on cake either, not the taste, but the texture isn't something I prefer on cake. But on cookies - thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

icon_lol.gif That's so sweet. I like to show them off because I like people to know how easy it is to work with fondant.
