I've heard that Martha Stewart has a cake decorating video that features the lady from Cupcake Cafe showing how she does her flowers. I checked on eBay but I can't find the video. Does anyone know the name of the video or where I can find it?

I just did a search on Amazon, and all I found was a DVD called "Martha's Baking Favorites" which will be released in December. Maybe that will be it?

I have that video! It came out a long time ago. It's called "The Best of Martha Stewart Living: Cake Decorating". I've scanned the cover of it here for you:

The Cupcake Cafe owner, Ann Warren, does an awesome segment where she pipes a gorgeous sunflower cake and Martha constructs a cake pretty much from start to finish.

Thank you antonia, that is the video. Now that I know the name, maybe I can find it somewhere or on eBay. Do you remember where you got it? I'm dying to get my hands on that tape.

I bought it from the Martha Stewart site about 8 years ago. It is dated 1997 on the back.

JustJamieLyn, let's do something that will make us both feel good...

If you donate $10.00 to the Hurricane Katrina Victim's Fund through CakeCentral, then I'll mail this video to you tomorrow at no charge at all.

What do you say? icon_biggrin.gif

You know, it would be a cool idea to have a "Swap Meet" kind of forum section on this site. I have so many tools and little pieces of equipment that I will just never use or I have 2 of them...I'd love to give them away, but knowing that someone in need will benefit too??

Antonia, that's a wonderful idea. I would love to participate in something like this...I'm certainly in need of supplies and would love to have $$ go somewhere that others would benefit. I wonder if we can do something like that here?

my DH is a member of a fly fishing board and they have a fly swap. Everyone makes 10 flies and mail them to the next person on the list. They end up with a variety of flies and some new ideas on making them on their own. I have been racking my brain to try and get that to work for us.

That is a great idea...I have sooooo much cake and cookie stuff that swapping would be better than selling on ebay all the time as their fees are getting really high!!

I'm In!! thumbs_up.gif

I totally agree with a swap. Unfortunately I don't have much to swap but I'd happily donate to charity for some cake stuff. I'm always looking for books and magazines which give me something to look at on the long trips to race tracks with hubby. If anyone has those as well, pm me and I'll see if I need them. I'm pming you antonia and the site admin to see how to donate.

I had signed up for something in Brooklyn called Freecycle. People post things they want to give away and then an email is sent to all the members and if someone is interested, they email back and they go pick it up. Everyone lives in Brooklyn, so it works with big items like furniture or strollers. It also works vice-versa. If you need something...you post it...and the members get emailed with the request. If you have it...then you contact the asker....etc...etc...

Maybe one of the brilliant teckies here can build a section where we can all post our stuff....extras that we want to give away...or things we might need. We can all set up Paypal or something to pay for postage if necessary. We can call it Cake-bay....or Free-bay.

I agree that Ebay just doesn't cut it anymore since now practically every store in the world lists their stuff. The fees are too high.
