Friend called me to tell me her father has now married for the 3rd time! icon_eek.gif , and wants to know if I could make them a cake for a "reception". The new couple is into hunting, camping or fishing...any ideas. I can pretty much do whatever I want, but completely stumped on ideas. Only needs to serve 40 +/- people...any ideas? I would love to attempt a stacked 2 tier cake. Any help would be appreciated. icon_smile.gif

Hello,
You could do a lot with those hobbies! You could make the two tiered cake and make it look like a campsite in the woods. Make the frosting chocolate or a dark color like brown or green and put pine trees on all the tiers. You could put a tent and campfire on the top. On the very bottom you could have "water" with fish jumping up the sides. You could even put a deer on the top of the bottom tier. I can see it in my head so I hope I'm explaining it well. Just an idea.
Good luck and don't forget to post the pic,
Heather

I like the top of this cake I found, it's really cute for a wedding. As for the cake, you can do it chcolate like the picture or do it camoflauge (spelling?). The are plently of ideas on the web, you just gotta be patient and search your little heart out icon_wink.gif Try looking at "Groom's" cakes for ideas - many have camping, fishing, hunting themes.

Good luck and don't forget to post a picture!

Place one figure on top tier and one on bottom. Both are holding a fishing pole and the lines meet and are intertwined. Maybe add a saying "catch of a lifetime" or such. Hope this helps.

PS: Charman, in the website of link I posted above, there's a hunting/camping wedding cake. . . look for it under wedding cakes.
