I wanted to let everyone know my family is surviving the after effects of Hurricane Rita... we did have some minor damages to our home but nothing that can be repaired... I have other family members living with me whose homes were heavily damaged... I still have no electricity but we do have a generator and have been able to have some power but it is very costly with the cost of fuel... other than all of that, I miss everyone and hope to be back soon .. take care and I can't wait to get back to see all of the pictures that have been post since I've been gone!!

It took me awhile to figure out your name when I first joined CC too . I would try to pronounce it so many different ways and finally when I did realize what it was I just at my desk laughing at how silly I was not to see that right off.. Very clever name I must say.. Take care .

Hi...I will keep you and your family in my thoughts. I was one of the many who tried to evacuate the Houston area and got stuck on the road for 12hrs (travelled only 55 miles) with 2 kids (5.5yr and 3yrs) and 2 dogs in over 100degree heat...our car started to overheat in the middle of the afternoon so we had to turn off the a/c!! We got to the Woodlands area (North of Houston) and gave up and crashed at a friends' newlywed sister's house (like got married 1 month ago!!). We were lucky in that the hurricane veered away from our area. I certainly have a much greater appreciation and realization of what victims of Katrina and Rita have and are still going through! I'm thankful that the Rita did not hit at the strength (category 3 or 4) that it was predicted originally to make landfall.

I am glad to hear you are okay, I thought of you when Hurricane Rita was near your area. Take care and hope to hear from soon.

I just got electricity back at my home today!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm having to use dialup for my online services as my satellite now faces the north (they're suppose to face south) lol .. I have to call and get it all repaired and stuff but I hope to be back with all of you soon.. gosh I missed this place and all of you!! Can't wait till my life gets back to somewhat normal again.. thanks again for all your prayers and well wishes!! I miss you all!
