.....to deliver a cake?

The two cakes I just made for military ceremonies were so big and the cake boards they were on were huge as well. We had to take one of the cakes to my DH's shop last night. There was no way I could deliver it by myself this morning with two kids in tow. The other cake I did deliver today because I had no other way of getting it there and no one to watch my boys. SOOOOO, I had my DH's truck so I could fold up the center console/seat to fit the cake board. I had a piece of non-skid liner on the seat to keep the board from sliding. So there I was driving this big ol' 350 with a huge sheet cake sitting next to me with one hand on the board just in case it decided to slide.

The whole time I was driving, I thought to myself.....I must really love decorating to do this. I'm just glad it wasn't raining!!! SHHHHHHHHHHH! Up here in Washington, you don't say that out loud!!! icon_wink.gif

I have had to borrow a car because mine was broken, once had to borrow one because the cake didn't fit in what i had.

Now i deliver either in the trunk of my honda, which is pretty big, but not deep. For stacked cakes i use my husbands pick up truck. The back seat folds up and a cake rides nicely on the floor.
