what do you guys/gals use for your container? i have some baskets i need to use, because they cost alot of $$$$ and they take up space....but is that what you'd use?
wondering what you creative people thought about the base of bouquets, also, what do you weigh it down with so it doesnt topple over?
thaks for your input!

You can wrap some clean rocks in some pretty mylar to weigh it down. I also like to use pretty ceramic planters, like the florists use, for baby arrangements. Regular, inexpensive terra cotta pots work well also - and they have their own weight! Shiny metal pails, or even well weighted sand pails are fun.

I found alot of pretty plastic flower pots at the dollar store.. I put some foam {something like oasis} in the bottom . I glued it in with a glue gun and topped this with pretty tisue paper then coloured shredded paper.I was then able to stick my cookie sticks into the foam and it stabilized my bouquet.. I also bought a few clay pots and painted them , the dollar stores are the best place to buy these things as it keeps the costs down..

We have a dollars store here called Deals, it has tons of containers in every shape in size, I found one for my baseball bouquet that was a plastic food keeper that looked like a baseball, my bouquet was perfect for it and the container was reuseable. Heather

I have purchased some cheap baskets and some decorated tins at the Dollar Tree here in the KC area. They are perfect! They also sell large soup mugs that work great as well.
Sometimes when I can't find anything at the dollar store, I goto Wal-Mart and they have a rectangular metal planter in the craft dept. for $2.97. I just use dry foam in the bottom of it and I don't have a need to weigh it down. It stands up nice and sturdy.

Also another great find at the Dollar Tree was "Gift Basket Bags" and they come individually along with a nice bow. You put your cookie bouquet in there, tie it up with the bow, and use your hair dryer to shrink it to your container. Soooooo handy. I have tried to wrap the bouquets in plastic from a roll and it was horrible! Now they offer an easy, cheap ($1) alternative!

I was just getting ready to ask this question. I was really looking for wholesale companies for containers. For now I will do as luv2cake suggested since I am close to her area. If anyone knows of a company where you can order these, please post.

Luv2cake,
which dollar tree store do you use in the kc area? I live in Knob Noster/ Whiteman Air Force base area but travel to KC for my supplies. Thanks,
Tiffany

I found the cutest things at Joanne fabrics-on clearance. They always have things by the front door at the end of the season, I just bought planters that are in the shape of rubber boots (in different colors like red, blue yellow) for 69 cents, they were 90% off so I bough a ton...I'll never use them all but a good deal is a good deal

I use the terra cotta flower pots in 4" and 6" size--Spray paint them or decorate somehow.
