Well I here that he is fairly easy to "eye ball ". Get you a picture of elmo, rather it be just his head or his whole body.. Once you have iced your cake, get the picture cut it out and lay it oh so gently onto your cake and trace it out with a toothpick. Then just us some sort of star tip and start icing away! From the looks of elmo his face shouldn't be that hard to do.. Go to the galler tab and do a search. Just search ELMO and you will find lots of cool ideas there..Good Luck

Dont thats a good idea.....Ive seen so many cool cakes on CC. with elmo in the forum. one thing I will add is that i like the grass tip instead of the star to make it look more like fur.....

Doing a gel transfer is good also and faster.

lastingmoments, I fell in love with the tip 233 also.

So tired of doing stars. icon_cry.gif

kiddi cakes your elmos are fantastic!!!!!

i just freehand drew elmo on a cake and used the grass tip to make the fur...i am not a good drawer, but he turned out pretty good. sorry dont have it loaded up on cc yet.
if you dont want to draw it, and dont want to do a fbt, i would do on like kiddicakes and use a half a ball pan and make it 3-d that would nock their socks off!

I found an Elmo pic on the internet and modified it to my liking and then made a bct and put on a sheet cake. Check my photos. The bct is quite easy.

Go with the Gel Transfer. It is so easy and Elmo is such a simple drawing that getting his eyes or nose in *slightly* the wrong place will make the whole thing look off. Then you can use 233 for the fur and have a more realistic picture than a bct. I love bcts, but for something simple like elmo, it would look better with texture.

Do a gel transfer.

good luck!
