I'm trying to get a nice Wedgewood Blue coloring for some royal icing.....I'm not having luck with my mixing..anyone have an idea what colors need to be mixed?
this does not mention wedgewood blue, but it may help on how the colors work together.. http://www.sugarcraft.com/catalog/coloring/colormixingchart.htm
Good luck
MaryAnn...bigcatz...I think that may be what I am looking for....probably a bit lighter....thanks for the suggestion!!
I paint alot so love mixing colors.. I would think that maybe mix a little grey into the blue..Wedgewood blue is pale but not a vibrant blue, it is more subdued.. Try just a very little.. I dont know if they make a grey color for icing but I use a paynes grey for painting .If you can't find grey then the tinyest amount of black might do it.. But very little with the blue and the grey {or black} you can always add more but its hard to correct if its too dark..Hope this helps.

crimson...that is a good idea...the grey...I'll fool around a bit more with the suggestions...I just can't grasp the concept of that stupid color wheel...*L*....
I agree the colour wheel can be confusing.. I think the easiest way is to just play with the colours, trying small batches to see what works best. Good luck and let me know how you make out.. I will be anxious to see your cake.

I found this for you.. not sure if it will help but it is interesting.. I went into my paint shop pro and tried to find a blue that was close to wedgewood blue.. I enterd that colour# into the wizard on this page and it came up with alot of info.. check it out and see ..The colour number for a close match to wedgewood was 88A6D8

crimsonhair, thanks for the great link! Even though it's geared toward web design, it's very informative for a artistically challenged newbie like me!
Ok everyone...the cornflower blue was perfect!!
I was making some monogram cookies....and needed just that shade of blue.
Thanks for all of your help and suggestions!!!
Glad your colour turned out the way you wanted.. Would love to see your cookies ..
