That happens to me sometimes. I just mix it as far as it will go, I always add a little crisco to the mix anyway, for shine. Anyway, mix it as far as it will go in the mixer then grease your hands grab it and knead it on the counter. Add a bit more crisco if you need it. That always works for me. Good Luck.

I would add 1 T of hot hot water. If that doesn't work, add just a tiny bit of Crisco (maybe 1 tsp.)

I dont mix MMF in my KA .. I read on here that someone burnt out their KA with it so I was scared to try it.. I just mix it by hand and it was easy.. I only mixed in half the sugar and then added a little at a time till I had the right consistancy.. I havent used all the sugar it calls for.. I grease my bowl with crisco {lightly} before melting the marshmallows with the water.. When mixing in the last few cups of sugar I greased my hands with crisco and it worked really well.. Good luck with your MMF.

I have made about four batches of MMF and it doesn't matter what all the hints and tips for making it are, it is still MESSY AND STICKY!!! I end up turning out my mixture, after about half of the powd sugar, onto my countertop and kneading in the rest. Definately grease your hands, as much as you want because I have had to grease the heck out of mine to keep the stuff from sticking. All of my batches have turned out just fine! The only reason I continue to make it is because it does taste a lot better than regular fondant. People still don't eat all of it but at least it does taste better!

I've noticed everyone on this site has completely different experiences with MMF. I think it must have ALOT to do with the weather/humidity where you are.

For me it was a horrid sticky mess. I gave up and threw it away.. But I read up and tried again and it came out much better. No special tips, just followed the recipe both times.

BTW, I couldn't knead it in my KA, but the dough hooks on my HAND mixer worked great! Who would have thought??

You must have one heck of a hand mixer! WOW! I haven't tried it in my KA because of what everyone has said about what it does to the mixer. I guess I'll still have my DH mix it for me! icon_wink.gif
