I have a request from my BF's nephew for a transformer cake. However they ended having the party this friday night (4 days away) I am looking for any ideas. Of course my BF thinks I should do a 3d version. However I only have two night to work on it (and one of those will be tomorrow baking and making the frostings) Any ideas?

I can always fall back on a BCT, but I kinda want something "special" he requested his "aunt" make him a transformer cake. I also thought about buying him a Transformer and including that on the cake (like the hulk on in my photos-for same nephew) However I still have no idea on how to decorate the cake then.

I did a google image search and searched the images on here and the forums and couldn't find any past topics/or photos. If anyone knows of one off hand let me know.

I appreciate any and all ideas. Thanks!

Other info:
Cake to feed about 20ppl (if there is cake left over no one will mind!)
Doesn't care which transformer it is
I have 2" to 14" round pans-10" sq-set of Heart/petal/hex pans.
I am open to ANY ideas!!

Thanks again

Leily

I think just the top portion of this cake might work...it'll use your round pans, for the sun you could use a cupcake. It picks up on the 3D idea too (sun & figures) without all the work.

Lisa~ Checked out the website and that is a great alternative! thanks for the idea!

My BF is searching for "accurate" pictures of transformers for me. So who knows what he'll come up with.

If BF wants 3D, why not compromise? You could do a transformer sitting down. Legs would be a narrow sheet cake, the top would be 2 square cakes back to back. You could use the parts from cutting down the sheet cake for arms. Haven't thought this all the way through, though, so not sure if it's really doable.

I've been looking for the exact same thing Leily! This is all I came up with online when I Googled "Optimus Prime Cake", cute, but I was hoping for a 3-D cake too...

Well I think my BF and I comprimised. I will be doing a 3D cake. But only of Optimus Prime Head. Cake is baking in the oven right now. Still have to make Icing and MMF tonight.
I Want to get somethings made out of MMF tonight to dry for a couple of days. However I have my weekly class tommorow night and I still have homework to do so not sure if I will get to.
I will definitely post a picture when I am done with it. It looks good in my head, we'll see how well I do with it in the end.

Thanks for the ideas everyone!

Leily
