I am doing a anniversary cake and I was wondering if I could put the plate on top of the sheet cake and put the small cake on the plate? Would that be sturdy enough? The lady does not want me to use the pillars. Thanks, teddybearmom

You could put the smaller cake on a seperator plate and place it on top of a sheet cake but you should still use dowels in the sheet cake to support the seperator plate on top of it. icon_smile.gif

If you are going to use the plastic separator plate with the feet on the bottom, you would probably want to use the "hidden pillars" (also called plastic dowels). The feet on the plate will sit inside the opening of the dowel. You can cut the dowel to be level with the top of your cake.

You could put the round cake on its own board, instead of a plastic plate but I would still use dowels to support it!
