I have a question. I have received a standing order for one cake every month to celebrate the birthdays that fall during that time period. My question is, "What do you write on a cake like this?" I work with mostly men and I don't want it to be too mushy and girly!
But I would think that I need write something! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I would probably do a cake that would correspond with the holiday or season for that month and just write "Happy Birthday....."
Just an idea!
I used to do the same thing for a hospital. What I used to do is write "Happy Birthday" and then the month. I usually used a few bright colors to make it fun. I also like using molded candy letters because the employees loved the way they tasted. You could stay with primary colors so it would not look too girly.

I used to do a monthly birthday cake for an insurance company. Sometimes I would do a theme related to the month.. or I would sometimes do really "kiddy" things like cartoon characters etc. I would write "Happy September (or whatever month) Birthday" and they would supply the names of each person for that month. They especially liked the kid theme cakes
I also do monthly birhtday cakes for local nursing homes.. I use it as an opportunity to try out new things to decorate. I usually just write Happy Birthday though... Sometimes they have a theme but usually I just do what ever... Last month I used my practice roses

You could just do "happy birthday" but with each month have a monthly theme, like in calenders. Sept - fall, leafs changing, acorns. October - Halloween-ish. Nov - Turkeys, squash, Dec - red and green - xmas tree ... I guess that would work. July would be cute- make a swimming pool!
