i was making icing today. anxiety, anxiety, anxiety icon_surprised.gif ...a customer calls me and asks...how soon is too soon to put in an order. well, she needed it the next day! icon_eek.gif on top of that i had three other cakes to do, then she calls back for another order. i don't mind, i love keeping busy. but, i was a little to busy! well, getting back to the icing, as the mixer was on, i added the p.sugar, big mistake, the bag gets caught in the beaters and woof-instant winter wonderland in my kitchen!!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif the rest is history!!!!

I understand your pain! On Valentine's Day, I was working on the strawberry shortcake cake I posted here. I was using a springform pan set that sprung too soon! It landed on top of the heating element in the oven and caught on fire! With smoke and fire in my oven, the kids opened the back door and started yelling "Help! Help! Fireman!" (we live right next to a school, so I'm sure someone heard us!) Anyway, I just turned off the oven and let it burn out. I ended up having to scrape cake out of the oven with my fireplace shovel. First time in 8 years of making cakes to start a fire! I questioned my baking skills. LOL I was in too much of a hurry. icon_sad.gif

Hang in there!!

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA - OMG IT SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE SOMETHING I WOULD DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That day will come - I feel it - I'm always getting things stuck in my beaters - it's only a matter of time before it's the PS bag - great little story - gave me my chuckle for the day! icon_lol.gif

Diane-I want to thank you so very much for making up my mind for me---I was going to measure out 4 cups of powdered sugar in ziplock bags so all I would have to do is grab a bag already measured when I went to make more icing(currently I keep it all in a container with a lid on it and measure it out-I buy the big bags and dump it in the container)...you have made me change my mind-I would be the next one to make the snow fall in my kitchen-it would be like when my son was a baby and got ahold of the baby powder on hardwood floors-thanks but no thanks!!!

Nanni ~ I think that is a great idea! I am going to pre-measure my ingredients now! What a quick and easy way to keep things in order and the kitchen clean too!
