I'm not sure what I did wrong! I started to transfer my first FBCT and I got a crack in it about halfway through. I've gone over the directions & old threads but I can't figure it out. I did forget to edge my cake when I was finished with the design. Would that be the problem? Could it have been too thick? Would that cause it? I smoothed out the back after I was finished but if I had an air bubble left, could that have caused it?

Lots of things can cause it to crack. It could have been too thin and I recently found out the surface you put it on has to be as flat as possible. Sometimes they crack if you take too long to place it on your cake. I made one once on a piece of glass and it stuck to the glass so I couldn't flip it out right away. Also I think sometimes the all crisco buttercream stays frozen longer so you can get those on better. You can use a small paint brush to smooth out the cracks most of the time. Sometimes I even think the humidity level effects them.

Good luck and keep trying, they are great to decorate with.
