I have a customer who wants a 3D shaped motorcycle cake. Does anyone have any ideas how to accomplish this? I thought maybe I could modify the 3D car or something. I looked on the web and in the gallery and didn't see any 3D motorcycle cakes. I saw shaped cakes, and I have also done one of those but she wants a motorcycle that stands up. Any suggestions? TIA!

Yeah, that's the cake I suggested (the flat one I'd done) but she wants something really different. I need to get my thinking cap on...I'd really like to figure out a way to do it for her!

How about making a motorcycle cake topper, out of RI or pastillage (gumpaste)?

Start modeling it as you would see it or think it, or print one to get an idea of some chrome and color, and size ratio.

Thanks for the idea, however, she wants the actual cake to be the motorcyle that stands up.

It'll have to be a pretty chunky looking motorcyle. Cookies as wheels, perhaps, sculpt the cake starting with general outlines, possibly start with loaf size stacked, freeze, dowel together, and start chiseling away with serated knife. You can do it!

I've not seen a nice motorcyle character pan either. I don't do character pan cakes, I like 3-d cake that standup.

Additional details can be added later with fondant or buttercream.
