One place I buy is Michaels craft store. I use their 50% off coupon on a regular item. I have bought many stands this way.

You can use a lot of different things as "cake stands" depending on what cake you are making. I made a sweet 16 cake that had 6 individual cakes and I used plastic champagne cups from Party City. They were the ones they had as summer party decorations. I will try to post a picture of the cake in a few days so you can see what I am talking about. I have also heard of people using garden stands.

Good Luck,
Cecilia

Garden ridge has lots of interesting garden stands that could be used as cake stands, depending on the time of year you check!
