I'M BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 
After a 17+ hour drive from N.O. to Houston.....no access to a computer....living with family who don't even like cake.....granny taking ill....and being worried if FEMA covers cake supplies.....I'm home.
GOD....I missed you people.
My home is fine, not a scratch. Only losses where all the food in the fridge and freezer. Lost lotsa MMF and BC.
We had to leave my granny in a Houston hospital. She took ill and RITA forced my family there to evacuate and me and mom came back home. I can't wait to get her back and get baking again.
I 'regular' job is with the City of New Orleans. I saw my office on the news under about 9 feet of water. Needless to say, we won't be opening up too soon. Thank God the City has still been paying us. I don't know how long that will last, but I keep thinking about all the extra time I'll be having to decorate.....YAY!!!!!

After as much as I've talked to you I feel like a big dork!!! I thought you were a Gal not a Guy!!!!! I'll probably be the only one that fesses up to thinking that!! But that's ok!!!!! I was so HAPPY to get your PM a few minutes ago!!!!!!!!!!! Me & Squirrelly have been doing the HAPPY DANCE!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so thankful you are ok! And yes, we were VERY worried about you! IF you need ANYTHING let me know ok!!!!! I'm here for you & I know CC is too!!!! The prayers & posts have been too many to count!!

Holy cow, I don't know if I can handle all this news, Devin is safe and had a sex change, all in the matter of one day, whey, haha! Ok Turtle Lady, you had me believing Devin was a she and now she is a he. Heehee! That is ok, we can handle that, we are just really happy "he" is safe. hope all goes well with your Grandma! Haha, well at least we had the New Orleans part right, right?

I am soooo glad you are ok and the only thing you lost was food. Even though that is expensive too....you are VERY fortunate! I hope your Granny will be ok. At least you were able to get her to a hospital safely.
You and your family and everyone else affected by all these storms are constantly a part of my prayers!!!

Sorry Devin, there are a lot of men that are marvelous bakers and decorators and pastry chefs, in fact at on time this career choice was dominated by men. That is ok, we would like you even if you were a "Boy Named Sue"!

Very glad to have you back and know that you are safe. We will continue to pray for your Granny. Did she stay in Houston during Rita or did she get evacuated? Hopefully, you will all be back together soon.
Now we just need to hear from our South and East Texas and Louisiana friends.

It looks like the Dallas area will not get much of anything, maybe a little rain and wind.

I am so glad to hear you're ok. You were worrying us all, it is good to know everyone in our little family on CC made it out of Katrina with only bumps and bruises, the rest of the material things can be replaced.
Glad to hear that you're ok, A lot of clean up ahead of you (expecially if you want to get baking until you can work, lol) But it is wonderful to hear you're all right.

Did ok, was just busy during her arrival. She was a mean old girl!! My hubby, kids, & I are all Vol. Fire Fighters/EMS/1st Responders so we were busy all day with medical calls & getting trees off roads. So thankful we didn't get it as bad as we were supposed to. Hope everyone else is ok too!!

Thanks All.......Granny is home fine now. I left N.O. at 5:20am and got home at 10:05pm. I was worried about getting in before curfew. My hands are jelly right now. MY solice is that everyone is home now and i don't have to drive far anytime soon. I need to decorate a cake soooon. I'm an addict that needs a fix. Buttercream is an awesome fix...
