For valentines day all of my single girlfriends and I are having what we like to call a "pitty party". We're going to pig out on pizza and I wanted to make a cake for dessert. I need an idea to represent the oppostie of this oh so happy day for lovers. I was thinking something along the lines of broken hearts... although it may sound alittle depressing I can assure you it is all in good fun! If you have any fun ideas let me know!

Great idea,Tog! Even when it sounds a little depressing (well just a little icon_wink.gif ,you have the right to do the opposite that day and enjot it! You can make a broken heart and stuck the same knife you are going to use to cut it in the middle.Make a good two layer, chocolate and raspberry and add you favorite filling.Or make small individual broken hearts with thorns around (my I sound creepy)You can also check the galleries for more ideas.Have fun and enjoy that day with your girlfriends.PLEASE post the pics...Good luck .

Well, this sounds a little Lorana Bobbit but you can do a "dirty" male cake....if you know what I mean and have fun when you get to cut it up! that almost sounds a little freaky. icon_redface.gificon_biggrin.gif

You could make a heart with the big O and a line through it. You know like a No love sign.

Or you could do something like a "Who needs a man when you have your friends" Type of cake.

Or you can do a cake with shoes, shopping bags and so on and write something about "Now this is LOVE!"

Valentines was never one of my favorite holidays - How about black roses? I love the cupid impailed idea so funny - I remember a female comic once saying (about her exhubby) "The only thing you go that I need I can buy and put batteries in" - too riskque? Maybe....

I love these two ideas JoanneK. Sometimes this is how I fell even though I have a very, very loving DH. He thinks however, that this is just one of those holidays someone came up with to make more money!! He doesn't not get or plan anything for us on purpose, it's just not one of those things high atop hiss list of priorities LOL! Anyway, I absolutly love the shopping idea! thumbs_up.gif

You might be able to adapt a divorce style cake by using heart shaped cakes.....

Think a heart-shaped graveyard with the tombstones of dead loves, and flitting cupids would be macabre - see below:

how about 2 conversation hearts where instead of "i love you" or "be mine" written on them you could come up with other sayings.

some examples:

"shove it!"
"love stinks" (now i have that song stuck in my head LOL)
"black wednesday"
"u sicken me"
or instead of "kiss me" how about "kiss my ***" (you fill in the blank icon_smile.gif

okay, obviously i could go on for hours coming up with negative conversation heart sayings but i'll shut up now. icon_biggrin.gif

have fun at your party! i bet it will be a blast!
