..that is really cool! I never heard about that cruise. Looks like the next one scheduled is a 7 day trip to Alaska. Maybe someday they will plan one on the east coast...I might be tempted!! icon_lol.gif

I too wish I could have gone on the cruise. It, I believe, costs around $400.00! My cake supply shop owner Linda Bills in San Diego was the one who organized the trip. Collette Peters is paying her own way for the cruise/demo! It would have cost me $400.00 plus a plane ticket down to LA where it departs from. If I lived in SD already like my sister, I would have gone with her. I'm sad and I wish I didn't remember it. Oh well, I'll wait for next year when they do Cake Camp!

Every two years the San Diego Cake Club is part of a camp that takes place either in CA or another to be determined location for a three day camp!!! Meaning, there are professional confectioners like Collette Peters, and even Roland Winbeckler who do workshops. There are tons of classes in whatever specialty you are interested in. The classes run from morning until night all three days and each class has it's own fee/supplies and you sign up for as many as you want. I'll see if I can find a link that tells more about it. I just know that next year is another Cake Camp year.

Well, I just asked my sister who is a member of SDCakeClub and she said details for next year's cake camp are being worked out. There isn't a link to go to to find out more as of yet. She just knows it's in Vegas next year at the Riviera! It's usually held in summer time.

I've been to cake camp twice and I have to say it's awesome... If you live anywhere near Las Vegas, I would try to go... I'm kind of bummed they moved it because my parents live in Ca and I was able to stay with them both times... Now, I'll have to pay for the hotel.. icon_cry.gif Oh well, it's worth it!! Byt the end of the weekend, your brain is literally fried.. Information overload!!! icon_lol.gif

That's what I've heard! I've seen the list of workshops when I was contemplating going. My sister told me that whoever organizes Cake Camp is getting tired of having it at Riverside! She says that they are hoping that more people will come if it's in Vegas. But she said that if you go to the cake camp at the Riviera that you will have to stay at the Riviera because they book around 100 rooms for it.

My "Batter Chatter" says September 3 - 6, 2006. My in-laws live in Las Vegas so I'm (G'd willing) definitely in!

We ought to have a place where all of us CC addicts can get together and actually meet each other face to face!

I know Linda Bills as that is where I take classes and buy my cake supplies. The cake camp is scheduled for next year in Las Vegas. Should be fun. Linda is a good friend of Roland Winbeckler as well. I'm sure the cruise will be fun.

Is anyone else going? I'm really looking forward to it and would love to meet up if you'll be on board.
