I'm a newbie cake decorator, this will be my first fondant cake.  I'm making fondant baseballs for the top of the cake.  I've managed to stain them to look vintage and dirty.  I now need to put the laces on them, how should I do this?  I don't want a bright red since they are supposed to be old baseballs, what medium can I use and how would I pipe it?  Thank you!!

buttercream or royal and you can add some brown to the red lace color or wait till it sets up and dust them with a little cocoa powder -- it's just kind of an offset open 'v' shape-- very easy -- don't over think it -- it's that easy --

best to you

and not to throw you off but and this is maybe an idea for next time but you could have one where a lace or two is broken -- but like i said don't over think it that's what you have me for
