ANeed some insight on stiletto shoe cupcakes as I have not made any myself yet. The ones with the cupcake as the ball of the foot with a cookie as sole and pirouette heel. My friend is having 100 made for an event and is picking them up herself. The venue is an hour by car on country roads from bakery. Typically how sturdy are these? Any advice or gotchas on transporting would be appreciated. Thanks

AI know which cupcakes you are talking about and am wanting to make them as well for my daughter! So pretty :)

Anyway, if i were to make that many and have to transport them, i would make sure that they are sturdy. I would "glue" the cookie and piroutte stick with melted chocolate or royal icing. The cookie (i am thinking of using lady fingers) should be cut through the cupcake and not just the frosting. Also, i am not gonna use cream cheese or any soft/whip cream frosting for extra stability.

For transport, i would take box lids, or any flat box, or sheet cake box and line them with non skid mat and use this as there will be no cupcake container that would accomodate this type of design.

Good luck!
