Could anyone please help me. Someone sent me this picture of a cake they would like for their daughters christening. I'm newish to cake decorating and in just wondering about the lettering on the cake. Is it molds, stencils, transfer or piped. Any help greatly appreciated.

Block letter Tappits.  They are a pain in the butt to use.  I really don't like the block letters but they are small which is good for smaller cakes if you don't like writing on them.  The key is to roll your fondant REALLY thin and let it dry before pressing the letters out.

I highly recommend using gumpaste, or at least a half gumpaste/half fondant mix for doing letters with tappits.  It used to take me hours to get lettering done, but I was trying to use straight fondant and it stuck like crazy.  Like Annie said, roll it thin, almost paper thin and then let it sit for a minute to stiffen a bit before you use the cutter.  Make sure you use corn starch both under and on top of the gumpaste before you cut, too.

Mexican paste works well as it doesn't stretch out and distort.

I also like to use the method of putting Saran Wrap over the paste before cutting the letters.

ADanielle, they are called FMM upper and lower case alphabet cutters, from Amazon.

Like this cake I used them for.
