Doctored Recipe That Is Fluffy And Light In Texture

Does anyone have a recipe for a doctored box mix that produces a light fluffy cake? I am asking to see if the additions will take care of the chemically aftertaste.
It may even be that I am looking for a commercial cake mix????
I am open to suggestions.

AThis is my opinion only but there is a difference in a cake that uses a box and one made from scratch. I use both doctored mixes as well as scratch cakes depending on the situation. I am in no way a cake snob but honestly I think you can taste the chemicals regardless of what you doctor it with. I add 1 cup cake flour, 1 cup sugar, 1tsp salt, 1 cup eggs or egg whites, 1 cup sour cream, 3tablespoons oil, 1 and 1\2 cup whole milk and 1tsp vanilla to a box mix. I never doctor a chocolate, that is always a scratch cake. If you need to carve the cake you can reduce the milk accordingly(I have used as little as 3\4 cup) and have it turn out like a pound cake.
