AHi everyone :D Just looking for some advice please, I'm doing my first wedding cake in a couple of weeks and I'm wondering if a 10 inch and an 8 inch would look odd together?? I don't have a 12 inch pan and I think a 6inch would be too small on a 10 inch?? I would really appreciate it if anyone has any advice?? I'm doing bottom tier vanilla sponge and lemon sponge top tier.
Thank you :) Gina
A 7" would look better IMO, but a 6" would look fine too. I wish I knew of a site where you could look at the differences, but maybe someone does and they will answer!
AYeah an eight will look weird, but I can't stand using anything bigger than a 5 for a top tier, preferring a four.
AAnd it really comes down to what is going on top of the cake too. If it will have a topper, and it's huge, then it will balance out the huge top tier. I rarely have to use a topper thankfully, so I use small top tiers.
And regarding toppers, you definitely need to know how much weight you're going to be supporting. Many years ago, at my late aunt's second wedding, she insisted on a ceramic Precious MomentsTM topper (that may or may not have been intended for the purpose), and the cake couldn't support its weight. (As I recall, it slid off, making a mess of the cake.)
A car was involved in an accident in a street. As expected a large crowd gathered. A newspaper reporter, anxious to get his story could not get near the car.Being a clever sort, he started shouting loudly, "Let me through! Let me through! I am the son of the victim."The crowd made way for him.Lying in front of the car was a donkey.
