Repairing Broken Model For A Non-Caker?

Hello everyone
I did a cake for someone and one of the decorations was gumpaste models of her two twin boys.
The cake is eaten now but she wants to keep the models for a while. However, one of the boys feet was slightly hanging off the edge of the cake board and she accidentally broke it whilst removing them. She asked for the best way to stick it back on.
Can you guys think of anything? I don't think she has superglue and the models were made over a week ago so I'm assuming water wouldn't work now.
I'm sure there's an obvious answer here but I'd rely on royal icing which she doesn't have of course.
AIs there a reason she couldn't just buy some super glue? Here they sell it in every grocery store, although the cheapest place is dollar tree.
Super glue would likely just melt the sugarpaste. Gum glue would work if she can get tylose & mix it with water.
