How Long Will Lustre Dust Look Good For? How Much In Advance Can I Use It?

AHi,

I've decided to stop lurking on the board because I finally have a question I can't find the answer to so your help would be appreciated!

I need to dust around 300 sugar paste blossom flowers in lustre powder for a wedding cake but due to my schedule I would prefer to prepare these about 5 weeks before the cake will be used and then all I have to do in the few days before is attach them to the cake. Is this too far in advance? Will the lustre dust have lost its shimmer by then? I am planning to steam them. Will that help them stay shimmery for longer?

Thanks for your advice!

Hollie

I've got cake dummies that are 2 years old and the luster looks just like the day it was applied.
