 Hi,

I need suggestions on how to camouflage the bulge! ? I was going to do string work but my whipped buttercream doesn't work well for string work. Can't get it stiff enough, it seems

And I made my MMF too dry this time and it cracked. I think I did a good job with the smoke and mirrors (aka cake sparkles) so you can't see the cracks on the dress.  But now I have a massive bulging issue! This shouldn't have happened as it's not like I don't  know what I'm doing (I know how to prevent these issues!) but this cake has been one issue after another!

I would appreciate your advice! It's for my daughter's 7th birthday!

TIA!

ACute cake! Is the fondant already firm? You can't prick it with a pin and push it to deflate the air pocket?

If not, then you can add cascading snow flakes or even small white flowers from the waist down. It will look cute and cover your bulge! Good luck :)

Looks great just like it is.  You are overthinking this.   Happy Birthday to the 7 year old!

AYou could add some swags towards the bottom if it's really bothering you but I think it looks fine. Im sure your daughter won't notice the bulge ;)

Do you really think your daughter and her friends will even notice or care.  Stop stressing and enjoy.

I agree, we are out worst/ biggest critics. Love the sparkles!

I agree! I saw this last night and had to really look hard to see what bulge needed fixing (which made me question my own abilities!:-D). I think it looks great! I think we always find pieces and parts of our cakes that we wish would have come out better.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and nice comments! Yes, we are our own worst critics and no, 7 year olds wouldn't care. But it is my own personal standards and cake rep!

Anyway, I went with the swags and I think it was just what it needed and turned out fabulous -the 'icing on the cake'...

Again, I so appreciate the support and advice on here because sometimes I just can't think what to do!
