Hi everyone,
I plan on making a replica of the cake below this weekend for a friend's birthday.
Does anyone have any tips on how it can be done easiest?
I have already decided on 10, 8 and 6 inch cakes.
The bottom cake is going to be biscuit cake and the other two will be sponge with jam and buttercream.
I have a few queries regarding the making of the cake;
Do I need to use dowels in between the two sponge cake layers?
How large should I make the fondant characters?
What is the best way to stick the m & m's to the cake?
Is it okay to put ganache around the biscuit cake in order to smooth it out so the fondant looks well on it?
Any help with these questions is greatly appreciated.
here's another post that got missed - so sorry hope everything went well --

best to you!
AThere is a CC member here that made the same cake. She said she used royal icing to stick the candies. Gosh that's a lot of candies! Let me know how it went! My sister wants the same cake! I can't imagine putting the candies on the cake one by one to get the overlapping effect. Maybe there's an easier way?
AThe characters you can make ahead using molded RKT, the sizes would depend on how big your top tier will be. Of course they'd have to fit, also you don't want them too small or too big.
