I'm making a cake similar to the one below in August. I want to stagger lollipops all over the cake, but how the heck do you anchor them? I would imagine they's be top heavy and tear themselves right off the cake. Is there a trick to this?

You could use coffee stir sticks or some kind of straw.. But I have used lollipop sticks in my cakes and haven't had issues with them tearing, especially in fondant.

ASucker sticks are available in different lengths. Make sure you buy the longest ones so that a good length of the sticks are buried in the cake. It will definitely help to keep the top heavy fondant lollipops stay put.

AThe 'lollipops' pictured aren't real so they won't be as heavy, you can use Kara's idea for added support but I doubt you'll need it.
