AHi ladies! Can someone tell me how to do this beautiful cake? Done by Firefly India. If you scroll down its the mint green cake with gold rubbed off and sugar flowers on top. It looks like she painted on the gold and then rubbed it off in places after it dried? I love this look and want to practice it! Thanks!

AOr maybe a partly gilded cake, initially covered in fondant and then patchy covering of gold leaf applied. I've never done this but that's what it looks like to me. Expensive technique!

Painted on with a brush?

AI agree, it looks painted on with a brush to me, although I'm sure there's several ways to do it. Would you brush the gold on dry or would you mix with lemon extract and paint on?

I get that effect when the paintbrush is not saturated with product, a little drier, and it skips across the fondant and gives that naturally rubbed and removed look.

I think I would paint it on with a mixture of alcohol or lemon extract making sure to blot the brush so it would make streaks of gold.

I think it is a beautiful cake, love the distressed look of it!
