I think it's bright colorful and fun! Now I want a turtle cookie:cry:!...... No....wait...maybe peanut butter or chocolate chip!

I really like it, I don't know about the copyright stuff, It made me want to buy a treat!

*I think your prices could be a little higher.

I agree with the poster above me about the prices. The grocery store I worked at charged 1.49 for a single decorated cupcake (normally just decorated with an icing flower) and they were small compared to the cupcakes at nearby stores. For something homemade and with fondant toppers, you should charge more.

The website itself looks bright and cheery. I love that the homepage is all patriotic atm too. That's a nice touch ;)

Also, <3 your bedazzled mixer. That is awesome!

I like your website, it's different and memorable. My only advice is you should be careful about offering copyrighted material unless you've paid the fees. You don't need to sued or even get a cease and desist.

Does it really only cost $1.50 for any one of these cupcakes, even the most detailed ones?

Nice, the click for flavours link on the homepage doesn't work though. Your pictures are very nice but the site is a little too bright for me personally.

AYour website looks wonderful!!! In the "Our Story" section I think their are a few grammatical and punctuation corrections needed.

Not only does she love to create items that look amazing, but she also feels that the taste and quality are top priority.

She was taught to bake at a young age by her mother, Rebecka, who has always been known for her amazing cooking and baked goods.

I just added a few commas and changed "is" to "are". I'm not trying to nit pick. I just know you want it to be as professional as possible.

You've done a great job!!!

ASome of the text is a bit clunky. For example, 'homemade baked cookies', and three sentences in one paragraph all starting with the word, 'we'.

How aboutthe second paragraph as a replacement for the first here.

We design every order special. We take the time to discuss your wishes so that we can bake your order exactly how you want it! We now offer amazing homemade baked cookies!

We take time to discuss your wishes so that we can create your order to suit your event perfectly. Amazing, freshly baked cookies are now part of our range on offer!

AWe Do Offer Custom Cakes please email to inquire about Pricing!

Should read:

We do offer custom cakes. Please email to enquire about pricing!

Minimum notice for orders are 1 week.

Should read:

Minimum notice for orders is one week.

But I'd suggest rephrasing it to something like, 'A minimum of one week's notice is required when placing an order.' Or 'Please place your order at least one week before the delivery date.'

Your menu page is pretty confusing. Having things in boxes in two columns makes it difficult to see what information is available there.

I love this, it looks great. The colors are bright and that mixer is amazing, love the bling :)

It's easy to use and find your way around but I do agree that your prices seem a little low.

Can I ask if you designed the website yourself? I'm looking around and comparing prices if you have any advice about who to go with? Had a few recommendations for these guys http://www.1and1.com/ but any more are welcome.

I'm really hungry though now after looking at all those caramel cookies :)

AIt's colorful and informative. Logo looks very nice and you have all the social media outlets covered. Like the photo gallery scroll at the top. Liked the desktop view over the mobile view. Great job! Where did you have your logo made looking for a good referral.

Before you read ahead - this comes out of a loving position of what would my IT, Website developer friends, and Marketing Professors would be (screaming) in my ear for feedback.

1) (rhetorical question to ask yourself ..) Who is your target market who are you saying "BUY ME!" to, design your site to them..  The only thing from the first image of your site I see is kiddie parties, which is great, if that's who you're marketing to.  If you want the brides, or anyone above say 12, or business clients, you're going to need to adjust and actually tone it down a little - could be as simple as getting a background color involved to "soften" it.  My 9yo without being told anything than "what do you think?" when I showed her said "Can we go!!! - that looks really really fun" - like you're marketing a bouncy house birthday parties, not cake.  But if 9yo cupcake decorating parties are your deal, you're on target...

2) "our Story" page - is it "our" or "my" or "iCakeFace's Story"?  One of the hardest things when professionally writing is to toot your own horn without coming across as such but also not misleading anyone because it can come back to bite you later on.  I'd rather see a small stating facts bio than one that leaves the customer/other professionals who might refer business to you thinking "she's not experienced yet"...  People want to buy from experience, even if you don't have it yet, don't tip your hand!  Here's how I'd adjust the paragraph using what you have so far...

"A passion for creating custom designed baked goods that you just can't find at the local donut shop is what brought Lauren Edwards, the founder of CakeFace Cupcakes, in (town) Illinois to open up CF shop.  Having learned to bake at a young age from her mother (or whichever term you call her - Mom, Ma, Memaw, Mother, etc.), who has always been known for her amazing baking skills, Lauren learned the importance of baking from scratch bringing that homemade taste into her baked goods.  Lauren's background in baking includes (memberships, blogs, published work in, degrees, alphabet soup, etc.)...  In (SET THE DATE!) Lauren plans to expand her business into a storefront location.."

This isn't a resume for someone to hire you, this is a "I'm here world and I've got cake balls of steel!!!"..

3) "Gallery" ... Take the language on the bottom of the page and put it at the top to make it the image going in, not an afterthought.  For the time being combine them together into one page until you've got more images to include in your CV - Remove anything/everything that could be considered copyrighted by a company (JIF bottle, Disney Characters, etc.) - you'll save yourself down the road.  When it comes to images, make some cake dummies up and get some variety up there that showcases your work.  One picture and at most two to show a different angle or close-up of your deco skills as they are not three of each unless there's a story to be told (and tell it!).  I'd rather see a caption-type description than the photoshop wording on the images.  I also notice you've got more "Gallery" in your homepage than you do in the gallery page.  You know your work is good, now show us who've never met you and ready to beat down your door!!!!!

4) Menu/Pricing (put it as one for now)...  Your prices are too darn low!  You aren't competing with Wal-mart here who you'll find charges FAR more for their filled cakes(!!!), and even their tiered cakes.  Get your pricing off the page either way!  Sell the sizzle, not the steak is a good business mantra.  People who like your work will call to ask your prices, or you can put a baseline for your minimum order of undecorated cakes.  As another put it, I could call you up and exploit your work for the prices you're listing!!  Also, what happens when your ingredient cost goes up - you'll have to change the darn website - making more work for yourself.

5)  Online ordering - Watch out for the scam artists to come your way!!!  I probably get 8:1 of scammers/website optimizers to one business contact on my contacts page.  Or, get your merchant account set up with a merchant page for the ordering process so that it requires a credit card to order.  Always get paid in advance, you'll avoid so many problems this way!

6) FAQ - A lot of this info I'd actually have included in the bio page.  Also, your food code statement worked into a faq - "My kitchen uses (nuts), if you have a (nut) allergy, don't order from me" that type of thing.

7) Press Page - That's not press, that's customer testimonials that you've currently got, also, do you have permission to use the "PINK" logo and the ladies images on the page (yes, a signed release).  I'd rather see customer testimonials given all things equal.  Press is just that - media - an article from the paper, a page from a book/magazine your published in, a news clip from being on the local TV station, an image you had published in the ICES magazine with proper credit being given to those sources.

8) I also use GoDaddy and their website builder - can I recommend using one of their premade sites and adjusting colors/pictures to your needs? My very first business site I ever made using AOL years and years ago was very much cluttered.  In order to sell, the clutter needs to be cut down considerably.  Granted, it's your site, go live and see how things go, get a counter on there to see how many hits you get after the first page, and go from there.  If people aren't surfing your site after the first page, it's because they've moved on.  Basically it's not just the cupcake business you're trying to enter, but also the website business and you are your own first client.

AThat's all great advice from couture cake. I think it's very colorful and cute but I wouldn't use the site for anything but toddlers cupcakes,I'd smile and move on to something more elegant even for our nine year old. If however the target market is smash cakes and cupcakes for toddlers then it's hitting the spot.
