AHi I'm new here, I been reading all past post a learn a lot from you thank you, I have a question I want to make a cake for my sister's birthday for 45 people, I want to use a 12 in pan and 6 in on top, but I'm confused do I need to put 2 layers i mean bake 2 cakes in other to be toll or as soon I cut in half and add the filing will be ok how it works please help thank you !!!

ASorry this is late! You can bake 2 twelve inch cakes and put a filling in the middle or tort one 12 inch cake and put filing in it. It is all about how tall you want the cake to be. The 12 inch cake with a 6 inch top cake will serve over 50 slices. I always make two- 2 inch high layers with filling in the middle to get a 4 inch high tier. Good luck!
